Surgery

If your pet requires surgery, our hospital is fully equipped to perform a variety of elective and non-elective procedures. Although some procedures can be done with local anesthesia, should your pet require general anesthesia, our well-trained staff of Registered Veterinary Technologists and Assistants will be with your pet every step of the way. Using state of the art equipment, your pet’s heart rate, blood pressure, temperature and oxygen levels will be monitored. All pets under general anesthesia are supported with intravenous fluids and are intubated so they can receive precisely the amount of oxygen and anesthetic gas required. Their temperature is maintained with warm air circulating ‘Bair-Hugger’ blanket.  On recovery, they are kept relaxed and comfortable with pain relief medication as required.
