Dentistry

Dental disease is one of the most common and preventable diseases your pet may develop. Dentistry is performed under general anesthesia in order to thoroughly clean all surfaces of the teeth without causing pain or distress to your pet. It also allows us to thoroughly evaluate your pet’s mouth for broken, damaged, extra, missing, loose or abscessed teeth. It allows us to take x-rays of your pet’s teeth to better evaluate what is going on under the gum line. Dental estimates can have a wide range because a final assessment of your pet’s dental disease cannot be made until they are under anesthesia.

Our practice provides:

  • Routine cleaning which includes scaling above and below the gum line, and polishing to help smooth the tooth’s surface after cleaning to slow the rate of future plaque and tartar buildup
  • Digital x-rays, which allow us to assess the tooth root and surrounding bone for problems
  • Oral surgery, including extractions, when necessary
  • A complimentary follow-up exam two weeks after your pet’s dental procedure to confirm all extraction site have healed well and to discuss preventive dental care moving forward
